It's just you.

Start with yourself.

That's the first thing my best friend told me when I picked up the phone.

There's always going to be people around you-- your surroundings which bother you. They challenge you. But in reality, the only opponent in this game of personal struggles is yourself. You only need to focus on yourself.

This game of personal struggles? It's called life. We strive to achieve success in the most bizarre of situations, something which might seem nonexistent to another.

And someway or another we think that the people, the environment around us, affects us.

Reality check, shall we?

It doesn't affect you, unless you let it. It just won't. (Trust me on that part). It won't come back to you, it won't bother you, and it absolutely won't cause you to do things you didn't want to do, IF and only if, you don't let it. It all comes back to one word, you.

So, first, work on yourself. Compete with yourself.

Only a ninety percent on a math test? Don't take it. Make yourself do better than that. Because in reality, you know, or if you don't know, you should know, that you can do much better than that.

start with you-- that's just one thing i learned from an eight minute and twenty seven seconds of a phone conversation (it's funny how one phone call changes everything, right?)

  1. Amazing post that is too true! Focus on yourself and only yourself, because that's the secret to being happy. Don't let anything bother you, because you can fix it all in your mind.
